Dine in our refurbished country dining room, where the charm and simplicity of the Lion are continued with our wholesome, freshly prepared and cooked, country menu. Good fresh, simple Welsh food is central to our vision complimented by a pint from the bar or one of the wines from our rather special wine list. The Lion Inn is renowned for its traditional Sunday Roast, all freshly prepared with Yorkshire pudding and gravy to remember.  Featured in the Saturday Times in 2007 as one of the Top 10 spots for Sunday lunch in the UK.

Wine
We have been fortunate enough to have enlisted the services of Julia Harding, Master of Wines to put together an interesting, great tasting, but different wine list.  This is not what you will find at Tescos.  This wine list is well worth exploring.  All the wines are excellent.  Our own favourites are the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, and the Omrah Shiraz, both really, really nice wines.

Try rounding off your meal with a desert wine.  Quite different if you have not tried sweet desert wines before, but a perfect compliment for you desert.

That Special Evening
The Lion, with its wholesome simplicity, is the perfect place for a birthday or anniversary celebration in a venue where it is the people and the welcome that count, and not the formality of the surroundings.   We are a small and personal outfit so we are very happy to discuss your particular needs and will oblige when we can..  We can accommodate pre-booked parties of up to 16.
